A combined competitive examination is conducted by the Union Public Services Commission (UPSC) for recruitment to the Indian Engineering Services. The Examination constitutes of a written examination followed by an interview for the personality test. The recruitment of qualified candidates is made under the following categories.

Candidates have three options of payments- pay by cash depositing cash at any branch of state bank of india through pay in slip generated during registration pay by card through any visa or master card or rupay debit or credit card and through net banking. The application fee for general and OBC category candidates is Rs 200 while women candidates, SC, ST and PH candidates need to pay any application fee.
